Hi,
My name is Joe from Florida. My daughter was recently diagnosed with AS. And then my life turned upside down. Started reading everything available on line related to AS. Came across a lot of info and data. Heard about Dr. Weeber and possible treatment with stem cells ( fetal, adult etc). Then I found clinics around the world that are doing this kind of treatment. Does anybody know more about stem cells, maybe did research or even did this treatment???

Hi Joe,

Welcome to the forum. I have a son who is going to be 3 in July, he has the deletion form of AS. I know they are currently doing much research with AS but to my understanding Dr Weeber's information regarding stem cell research was taken out of context and you can read more information about this on www.cureangelman.org Like I said to my understanding he is currently doing research on a pharmacutical approach for a treatment but not via stem cells (I think). I too had can upon an other scientist that was currently doing reasearch on stem cells but I can't recall her name at the moment but I don't think it is treatable yet with this kind of treament.

Like you said my life also has been turned upside down with this diagnosis but you will one day be "okay" with this "upside downess" and will learn to love your child as we all have with this diagnosis. Of course I will continue to search and have hope like you but I think for now we have to just relax and enjoy our kids and be patient until a treatment is available, Hopefully, soon.

Hugs and Relax,

Dalia
