Cant take him anywhere!
We thought it would be nice to take a trip to the park. Loveyyy...lol
Doddy had a swing and we stuffed him down the slide, just gaining some composure around the other parents who were watching Doddy walking around with the ataxia (as they do). "Oh look Daddy!" says our 4 yr old Mickey, "Duckies!"
"oh ok then lets feed the ducks by the pond" says Dave. We strolled over to the water ....then things got a bit out of hand. Doddy spotted the water, he let go of my hand and he was off, the little legs were doing windmills, he was falling over, got to the waters edge and kept going..."no Doddy not in your shoes!" I yelled. No not listening, ....so I grabbed him and pulled him back.
He was determined to get in that water...with the ducks. I tried extracting him, he just let out this high pitched screech at me and on it went. In the end I had to pick up and toddler carry back to the car, this enormously heavy little soul just as he was commando crawling back into the water again.
Is this normal behavior towards water. I've not had this issue with my other kids, they were just obsessed with looking at water not getting into it!

Good Morning;
Im sorry for the chuckling, but that is so similuar to what my daughter Katrina (2 & 1/2 yrs old) does when we get near any lake. If she see's the water, she is in rout and moving with a purpose. I will always make sure she can look at the lake, but at times when she becomes over persistant with wanting to go towards and into the water, I have to remove her. NOW on THOSE special days when Katrina is being stubborn, she will throw her little fit. She does the T-T dance (potty dance - rapid feet stomping) and then starts with her high pitch screaming along with the T-T dancing. It draws alot of attention. By the time Katrina has gotten to that point, my wife and I are usually about to burst with tears from our laughter cause it just so darn cute. Our expressions usually turn others peoples attention away.
I can not say that Kaelyn (wife) and I have found a solution for solving this. But we do know for a fact, that with our sweet Katrina, sweet soothing talking while dealing with this particular situation seems to get results with her public outbursts with fits. I wish i had a video of my princess throwing a fit. Its so cute!
The best advice I could possibly share with you in this, is to know your kiddo in and out. Use various vocal tones to experiment what best grabs his attention, and in what way, and then become persistant with that form of dicipline. Every perfect angelman child responds differently.
Sorry if i wa not much of a help. I just had to respond to this posting!
